AppleCores: Review and Giveaway!

Today I wanted to share with you AppleCore, a company with an elegant and practical solution for the ugly mess of tangled electrical cords around the house.   Just perfect for anyone who owns any type of appliance, phone, computer, hair dryer, etc...essentially you and me folks!  

AppleCore makes these lovely rubber cord detanglers that look very much like apple cores...love their design!  They come in three sizes.  Small is perfect to keep your earbuds or thinner cords untangled.  The medium size is perfect for computer cords or other small appliances...think your hair straightener and kitchen aid :-)  While the large size can handle most household appliances with thick electrical cords.   

I love their slogan...it's so cute and fits their product so well!

AppleCores are super easy to use.  Just split apart the opening at either end and shimmy in the end of your  cord you need to plug in your device, then wrap the rest of the cord around the core and leave a few inches to plug the cord into the wall!

Plus they come in lots of great colors!!

AppleCores have saved our countertops, thank you!  We have some many things we plug in during the day our counters were starting to look ridiculous all full of cords.  Here's a peek at just a part of our cleaned up kitchen nook.

Now it all looks so nice and neat...yay!!

MyMemories Suite Review and Giveaway!

This giveaway today is really, really awesome, oh I love it so!  If you are a scrapbooker you will love it and if you are not a scrapbooker (hello, that's me!) you will love it too!  My Memories Suite Scrapbook software is super easy to use and lets you create gorgeous photo albums right on your own computer!  You can design your own pages from scratch or use one of a ton of designer options.  

I really love how there are so many choices for outputting your album.  You can make them into hardbound albums that will get mailed to you (and the price is very competitive to other digital album stores online), or you can have them saved to a DVD or even print them out at home!    

I have always wanted to put together a cookbook with favorite recipes for my family and this digital scrapbooking software makes it so easy!  All you do grab a picture right off of your computer, no need to wait for uploading pictures...love that!  Then choose where you want it in your layout, choose embellishments and then place your text box!  I love, love, love that the font comes straight off your computer too so you have lots to choose from and you are not confined to a limited font selection.  There is even a word art designer that lets your text follow shapes...like around curves or corners!  :-)  

The page above is just one of the basic create-your-own templates.  I included a picture of Penelope's birthday cake from her birthday day, added some gingham tape embellishments to the corners and then added the text box to look like a recipe card below.  So fun!

Here's a screen shot of some of the features My Memories Suite offers...can you see at the bottom right corner how you can even make your pictures into a movie!  And you can make it iPod-ready too, so you can upload it to your iPhone, iPod other apple devices and take your show on the road!  My kids love to watch videos of themselves so this feature gets used by us A LOT!

My Memories Suite also does great video tutorials to show you how to use the software, this was so awesome for me to watch cause they give a great walk through of all their neat-o features.

OttLite Giveaway...Winner!!

Sorry about posting this so late today.  We were chasing after our 3 crazies the past two days due to all sorts of wedding hullabaloo, they were flower girls and a ring bearer in Mr. Smashed Peas sister's wedding.  Huge sigh of relief that it is all over now.  We are utterly exhausted and I want to go straight to bed for like a week.

Ottlite Craft Caddy Lamp: Review and Giveaway!

So today I am going to give you my two cents about the Ottlite Craft Caddy Lamp, are ya ready!

First off, I just love this thing!  It really is SO multifunctional, it's not just an awesomely bright light but it's also a great storage space for your smaller craft necessities.  Really, what's not to love about it...me likey so very much!

The neck on the lamp is very adjustable as you can see in the first two pictures.  It also can go straight up and down and the light bulb housing component is adjustable too, so if you need just the right angle of light to help you see some embroidery or any hand-stitching you may be doing this is your light!

The light even folds all the way in...see, now it's gone!  And the little compartments on either side of the light are removable so you can move sections of your goodies with you as need be :-)

Want to see something even cooler?  The Caddy has a moveable handle that you can pull forward and then carry the Caddy, light and all, anywhere you please.  Love that!  Then just tuck it away and totally outta sight when you are done.  

Two other features I just about jumped for joy over are 1) the space saving cord cozy that allows you to wrap the cord when not in use so it's not just dangling around and becoming a magnet for your children.  2) the extra outlet that is built in the back.  So now if you have all your outlets used up near where you are seated you can still plug in your glue gun and hot glue like a crazy woman...woo hooo!

Fresh Wave...Giveaway!

The ingredients are so simple...water, natural extracts of lime, pine needle, aniseed, clove and cedar wood.  See!!  They totally use ingredients that are nature-made :-)

I also love these Odor Eliminator Pearl Packs...what a great product!!

They work just like the package description states.  Throw one into any, and I mean any, confined space and let them get rid of all unwanted odors there.  I use them in the cabinet we keep our garbage can in and Woah! do they help for those times when I forget to take the garbage out...which may be more often than I'd like to admit!  The coolest thing is that they last about 30 days...yes, momma likey!

Seventh Generation Diaper Review and Giveaway!

Did you know that Seventh Generation has redesigned their Free & Clear diapers?  Yup, it's true...they did!  Seventh Generation diapers already do not include chlorine processing, fragrances, latex and petroleum based lotions.  And now they have redesigned them to have a lighter-weight core! 

You know what else is pretty cool?!  They also reduced the size of the diapers' plastic packaging which means that each pack now contributes to even less overall landfill waste than before.  You can even recycle the packaging at your local supermarket where plastic bag recycling collection boxes are available.  

So what are my thoughts on on these new diapers?  I really liked them!  They were thin yet very absorbent, we had absolutely no leaks, holla!  :-)  I wish I had taken a picture of Ellie wearing them to show you the fit but I didn't, bad momma!   But just so you know they fit great, no gaps, no bunching...how how I love that so much!

Milk Nursingwear Giveaway!!

Alright lovelies!!!  Today I have a super awesome giveaway for you all from none other than Milk Nursingwear, can I get a word up!

This nursing wear store has lots of goodies for the momma and the momma-to-be!!  Nursing bras, nursing tanks, diaper bags, breast pumps, slings and even nursing dresses...wahoooo!  

Being that I still nurse Eloise (I know Eloise just turned one year old but she still nurses and she probably will still be nursing for another 6 months give or take a few, until she is ready to wean herself.  I know some of you may think I'm weird but it's totally not.  She doesn't nurse like a newborn, every hour or two for 40 minute sessions.  She nurses when she wakes, before a nap and before bed at night with maybe a quick session if she hurts herself and needs to be soothed.  Really, though just 5 or 10 minutes a session once she is around a year old...I'm a huge supporter of nursing and think everyone should try to do it for as long as possible if you can!! ) I was excited to be able to review the Smocked Sleeveless Sundress as I have only been able to wear sundresses at home cause I would either have to hike the skirt portion up or pull the top down, hello flasher!  Not really cool to do in public. 

  

I'll be honest, but I had my doubts about this dress as I have bought my fair share of nursing shirts and tanks and have hated them all, yes every last one!  This dress is pure heaven...I LOVE it!!  I am going back to buy at least two more.  The color choices are great, very stylin' and super pretty.  

The smocking is gorgeous and is not too tight and not too loose.  I love the straps, many of my nursing bras have thicker straps and this dress's straps hide them perfectly.  The knit fabric is also nice and airy but not clingy...hooray!  I love that this could be an everyday dress as well as a night out kinda dress...I may even wear it to a wedding later this summer :-)

You nurse your little one by lifting up the smocked portion of the dress and pulling the underlayer aside, nothing shows...pure perfection.  I was able to wear this dress to church and nurse Ellie without showing the world a thing....if you nurse you know THAT is exciting!!

Okay, so let's end my gushing review...I really do love this dress though, I want to wear it everyday (which is why I'm going to buy a few more!!)
