So today I am going to give you my two cents about the Ottlite Craft Caddy Lamp, are ya ready!
First off, I just love this thing! It really is SO multifunctional, it's not just an awesomely bright light but it's also a great storage space for your smaller craft necessities. Really, what's not to love about it...me likey so very much!
The neck on the lamp is very adjustable as you can see in the first two pictures. It also can go straight up and down and the light bulb housing component is adjustable too, so if you need just the right angle of light to help you see some embroidery or any hand-stitching you may be doing this is your light!
The light even folds all the way in...see, now it's gone! And the little compartments on either side of the light are removable so you can move sections of your goodies with you as need be :-)
Want to see something even cooler? The Caddy has a moveable handle that you can pull forward and then carry the Caddy, light and all, anywhere you please. Love that! Then just tuck it away and totally outta sight when you are done.
Two other features I just about jumped for joy over are 1) the space saving cord cozy that allows you to wrap the cord when not in use so it's not just dangling around and becoming a magnet for your children. 2) the extra outlet that is built in the back. So now if you have all your outlets used up near where you are seated you can still plug in your glue gun and hot glue like a crazy woman...woo hooo!
Okay, so do you want to win one of these beauties? I thought you might!!

ReplyDeleteOh wow, that does look like a really great light! My lighting where my sewing table is isn't too great and I sure could use some more light. I've been working on using up some of my stash so I can buy some new fabrics. Next up is a shirt and pj's for me!

ReplyDeleteMaggie, the lighting in my studio is terrible. I would love to win this light. I just cleaned up my studio last night, and tonight need to get working in there. I'm part of a "heart" swap, and need to get my gifts done and in the mail by 8/26/11. Sorry I can't tell you what I'm working on, in case my swap partner reads your blog! :) Hope I win this great give-away!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! This would be fantastic for learning all the new little buttons, stitches and threading of my brand new sewing machine! :)
ReplyDeleteI would love that! Anything that is multipurpose is awesome in my book :)

ReplyDeleteMy Holly-Cave needs additional lighting that is quick and mobile. I currently have a stand -up five bulb college dorm room clearance priced gizmo sitting on my sewing table rigged to spotlight various aspects of what I'm working on. It works, but the cheesy factor is pretty high. Come to think of it, so are the lights. I have to stand up to adjust. Now, I'm not saying I'm lazy, buuuut it would be nice to just reach over and be able to adjust, not back the chair up, stand up, adjust, and then have to sit down and 'settle' back into the proper sewing position.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the opportunity! This would be perfect for me
ReplyDeleteI like Smashed Peas and Carrots on FB
ReplyDeleteOh man, that's so multifunctional I'm about going crazy with want! That would be absolutely perfect for embroidery, as the lighting in my room is awful. Here's hoping for a chance to win! Does it count that I already like you on Facebook? I'm "liking" Ottlite too!
ReplyDeleteThis would be the perfect light to illuminate my sewing space! Thanks for the opportunity.
ReplyDeleteWe live in an old house with poor lighting. This would be awesome for my knitting and crafting. Thanks for the opportunity!
ReplyDeleteI liked OTTlite on facebook.
ReplyDeleteI already like Smashed Peas and Carrot on facebook. Love all your ideas! So talented!
ReplyDeleteI do most of my sewing and crafting at night after the kids are in bed. This would be great to move things out of the way when I am finished to keep their inquisitive little hands away from the smaller parts of my projects. Right now I am working on coordinating outfits with hand embroidered appliques. (two dresses, one diaper cover, and a pair of overalls, with of course matching hairbows for the girls!) Up next will be still as of yet undecided halloween costumes.

I've been looking (drooling) at these Ottlites for a while now - I really need one in my sewing/craft room. This summer I've been whipping out clothes for the kids & have plans to hand quilt a baby quilt. This light would certainly help with the poor lighting in the room & also my aging eyes. Thanks for a chance to win one!

My 8 year old daughter has the craft gene. But she doesn't like to work on her projects at the kitchen table or at the desk in her room. I'd love to have an ott light craft caddy to her save her young eyes.
ReplyDeleteHoly Schmoly that little baby is awesome! The Munchkins and I co-habibit in a teeny tiny apartment, and anything that's compact and transportable and put-away-able is A-ok in my book. It would be great for late night living room sewing!

ReplyDeleteI "like" smashed peas and carrots on Facebook.
ReplyDeleteI NEED one of these so I can craft while my husband is asleep! My craft space is in our bedroom after being kicked out of my craft room to make it a nursery! I love to scrapbook or craft late at night but my hubby is a sleeper! So as I said I NEED to win this! :)

ReplyDeleteOh I need this so bad! My craft room is in the basement with no windows and substandard lighting. This would be perfect on my desk so I can actually see with out sitting so close to my machine! ReplyDeleteI need this because the older I get, the worse my eyes get - terrible I know - but I just do not see as well as I used. I have heard that these lights are great for people like me.
ReplyDeleteI need to get back to doing my kids' scrapbooks and sending friends homemade cards! This light would brighten my craft desk!
ReplyDeleteThis would be great for making cards after the rest of the house is asleep. Late night is quiet, but dark. lol I love the extra outlet. I didn't know it had that!
ReplyDeleteThis would be a great lamp by my chair where I knit. There is only one light in the room and I could sure use one of these! Thanks for the giveaway!

ReplyDeleteI already *like* you of facebook!
ReplyDeleteThis would be great for my up-close seam-ripping that I seem to have to deal with frequently. Ha! Since I sew in our dining room we don't have an over-abundance of task lighting and detail work is hard to see. Thanks for the chance to win one of these. Have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteI need one b/c I do a lot of sewing at the ill-lit kitchen table. However, my mom needs one more so I'd probably give it to her. emmillee(AT)gmail(dot)com
ReplyDeleteI liked both you and OttLite just now! Thanks:)
ReplyDeleteI need it to see my scrapbooking pages better! Than maybe I will dig into my huge stash and go for it!

ReplyDeleteI could really use this light! The light on my sewing machine is broken, it looks like a strobe when I try to sew with it :)
ReplyDeleteI started teaching my 7 year old daughter to sew. She's hooked! The light on our sewing machine isn't the brightest so when I lean over to help her I block her light. This would be perfect. It would also help her keep her things organized. Thank you for sharing. I love your blog.
ReplyDeleteThis lamp looks amaze-balls!!!! I also sew in the basement and I would love to have more light whilst sewing and the caddy part is just perfect. I am not on facebook (gasp)but now I kind of wish I was!

The caddy lamp is on my must have list. I've been working on some cuderoy yoked tops for my daughter for pre school and am having the worst time getting my blind hem to work.
